An open letter to the Sleeping Lion in all of us...

It was a Sunday afternoon, the sounds of Nina Simone lingered in the background. Allowing my mind to drift, I began to think on GOOD music, extra emphasis on the good - in the" moral quality" sense of the word.  At that moment I remembered how their songs spoke loudly at a very spiritually and emotionally challenging period in my life...I drew power from the story of your plights... In a moment of appreciation, I gave birth to the letter below. It is addressed to Danielle and Dallas, but it has now become an open letter to the Sleeping Lion in all of us...

Epic: Noting or pertaining to a long poetic composition, usually centered upon a hero, in which a series of great achievements or events is narrated in elevated style.

 

ASA Bro. & Sis. Epic, 

I would first like to say that your music has a way of freeing the mind of many programmed responses; I love the accountability, and reconciliation that is woven into fabric of your verses, hooks and bars. I love the warrior spirits that speak over the beats, easily likened to roaring tears, of two, but reflective of many that refuse to make peace with the lower self, but war instead...In my IPOD of LIFE your genre would be titled "The Recounts of Conquering Lions."  If ever it seems that your goal is far from your current circumstances, know that your perception is wrong. It is attainable, and you must keep hold to it. Your gifts are not only for you, they're for us all! It became very clear to me today, that we have been introduced to a body of Supreme Wisdom that ensures success. 

Master Fard came to free us; He came to give us life in the realest sense.  It is that SPARK, that quickening, that makes all things possible. As it has been said, Genesis 18:21 " I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the outcry, which has come unto me; and if not, I will know." 

He came, comfort and assurance came, and has dwelled with us since that faithful day in 1930. 

Life has been given to us from HIM, through The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, and The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan. Through them we have become acquainted with that SPARK, it is because of them that I know this.

Same as The Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad, The Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan is before us mightily daily, warring with principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. He fights that war for us, that we may have time to cultivate that spark, time to access that god power in us, through self correction and the development of the self accusing spirit. That we may get a few Generations of Giants under our belts...That The Day May Come, when it is said "They Have Been Raised"  His people will no longer be destroyed for lack of knowledge but Resurrected instead, through knowledge, first of self and acceptance of their own...Past, Present, and Future.

Through it all, we are blessed, and God is Love.  Romans 13:11-12 "Do this, knowing the time, that it is already the hour for you to awaken from sleep; for now salvation is nearer to us than when we believed. The night is almost gone, and the day is near. Therefore let us lay aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light.

Surely we are being turned.

Some Things That Make A STRONG BLACK MAN

A STRONG BLACK MAN ain’t necessarily a thug or a gangsta in the streets trying to prove his manhood with his piece, chains and hot beats

A STRONG BLACK MAN knows the meaning of responsibility and knows that priority lies with his STRONG BLACK WOMAN, children and community

A STRONG BLACK MAN not only knows his history but fully manifests it in his every move

HE not only knows about the Nile being the Cradle, but acts in faith and principle with every groove

LET THE DRUMS SPEAK ...
LET THE DRUMS SPEAK ....

A STRONG BLACK MAN never puts down his STRONG BLACK WOMAN and calls her a bitch or a ho or simply … easy

HE uplifts her always by referring to her by her proper title: QUEEN, MALKIA,THEMA or BUQUISI

A STRONG BLACK MAN loves and treats his STRONG BLACK WOMAN with patience, truth, balance and compassion

A STRONG BLACK MAN seeks advice only from other STRONG BLACK MEN who have the same vision and are not about flashin’

A STRONG BLACK MAN never allows himself to be brought down

HE instead uplifts his QUEEN to the LEVEL beyond the crown
A STRONG BLACK MAN shouldn’t ever feel the need to curse or yell

Only to those who attempt to take away THEIR freedom – standing tall and fighting like hell

Not even Babylon with all of the confusion that it produces could ever persuade HIM to walk away from his rightful place
And if HE were to happen to get lost at some point, HE will eventually find his way back and not compromise his TRUE LOVE for the paper chase
A STRONG BLACK MAN always accepts and defends his own
HE nourishes and provides and as long as he is with his STRONG BLACK WOMAN, he knows never to decide on his own
A STRONG BLACK MAN knows that 1 + 1 = 1 in relationship terms
A STRONG BLACK MAN never intentionally hurts his STRONG BLACK WOMAN, but whenever he does accidentally, it’s supposed to burn
Whenever wrong is committed and A STRONG BLACK WOMAN is hurt, it is necessary for A STRONG BLACK MAN to confess, apologize and learn

A STRONG BLACK MAN knows that nothing is ever wrong with him expressing what’s truly in his heart
A STRONG BLACK MAN never cheats and always tries his hardest to work out differences before allowing anything to drift him and his STRONG BLACK WOMAN apart

A STRONG BLACK MAN never includes the word “quit” in his vocab

A STRONG BLACK MAN knows that giving up on his STRONG BLACK WOMAN is just as bad as a back stab

A STRONG BLACK MAN always sees THE CREATOR within him

A STRONG BLACK MAN knows that his STRONG BLACK WOMAN is and will forever be a Goddess and is to be treated as half his religion

As it was in the beginning, in MOTHER AFRIKA where we were originally birthed

PEACE and LOVE showering THE TWO as THE RAIN does THE EARTH!

For the TRUTH we must push ….
